Import MP3 music

Asked by C Jack

I have several MP3 music files on another Windows drive in my computer.

How do I move them into Rhythmbox and convert them to OGG files??

Thanks

Open the Windows drive copy them to Ubuntu filesystem and convert them with soundconverter

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

To install Soundconverter first be sure your release is fully upgraded type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

then to install soundconverter

sudo apt-get soundconverter

Please give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

You will find Soundconverter under menu Applications->Audio and video->Soundconverter

If you are in trouble with proprietary mp3 please read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats

Hope this helps
