permission, juicer, real, wireless

Asked by technophobeDad

My son recently installed ubuntu in my laptop. It looks very nice but there are some difficulties to sort out.
1. When it is booted up it will not allow me to alter the files in my shared partition (read only). I can get round that by typing
mount /shared-dir
Is there any way to automatically do that every time I fire up the computer?
2. Juicer will not play my cd's
3. How do I get my wireless card to work?
4. How do I install realplayer for radio?
Thanks for any help

Ok, lets gather a little more information first (I'll try to help you with one topic at a time).

1. According to this I guess you're having a dual boot configuration, is windows the other OS?
2. On to the sound juicer thing, when you're saying that It is not playing your audio CDs you mean that you can cannot hear sound? Does the application at least shows the audiotracks contained in your disk?
3. About the wireless card, I'll need to know its model and if your using DHCP. If you dont know the model please post the contents of the command:
sudo lspci
Does the wireless card is embeded or is a pcmcia card? Which brand and model is your laptop?
4. About realplayer you may download it from their website http://www.real.com at the very bottom of the page you should see a link saying "Linux / Unix player", click there to download it.

Can you help with this problem?
