Sound Juicer Won't Convert Songs to MP3

I have ubuntu 7.10 and completed all the steps in the following help page for ripping MP3s in Sound Juicer: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CDRipping. However, when I rip songs from the CD to MP3, the songs convert to extention .ogg and not to .mp3.

Why is this happening? What do I do to convert it to the desired MP3 format?
