I just started using Ubuntu and I can't get my printer to work. The printer is a HP laser jet 1020. Please help.

Asked by Rajeev

I tried to print something and nothing happened. I looked in and noticed that the printer has been recognized, but nothing happens. I then checked the log and found that the jobs were all in there. Please advise.

Is the printer directly connected or on a network?

You must install additional firmware for your printer as described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/foo2zjs/+bug/96454.

Choose System > Administration > Printing. Click "New printer" and follow the instructions. Your Printer HP
LaserJet 1020 is supported.

Hope this helps.
