How about using solr 1.4

Asked by Andreas Otto

Apache solr 1.4 was released in October or November 2009 but Ubuntu 10.04 will still ship an outdated version of solr. A fews CMS like Drupal and TYPO3 start supporting Apache solr as their search engines. These CMS would require AFAIK at least solr 1.4. What needs to be done to get support for solr 1.4?

If the question is not relevant someone from the project team could at least add that as a comment to the question and close it.

There is still no answer to this question.

When will Ubuntu support Solr 1.4 or later?

According to a comment posted by Dave Hall, Lucid will finally ship 1.4.
