Packaging SOGo 3.0.x for Xenial

Asked by Steve Williams

I'm wondering if it's possible to package SOGo 3.0.x (http://sogo.nu/bugs/changelog_page.php) for Ubuntu 16.04?

It seems that 2.x is no longer supported by a few parties and armhf and arml builds are not available from Inverse.

I understand that no new versions can be added to Xenial, but having it available through a PPA would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I suggest you report a bug if the version in the repos is EOL.

It seems that Inverse are maintaining two separate versions, 2.2 and 3.0. I honestly don't think that 2.2.17a is EOL.

For whatever reason, Inverse aren't maintaining a build for Ubuntu 16.04 and only have a repo for 14.04. I think the Ubuntu package maintainers have just carried over the 2.2 package rather than build the 3.0.x packages.

If it's too much of a problem, I'll figure out how to build a 3.0.x PPA and see if it works.

I suggest installing all the sogo and sope .deb files at the following location:

https://inverse.ca/ubuntu-nightly-v3/pool/xenial/s/
