Ubuntu software center does not run

Asked by Iansa

After updating to ubuntu 9.10...When I click on Ubuntu software center, the mouse shows that it is loading, but it exits after 1 second. In that second I can only see the window, but not the content. I have tried to reinstall it, but nothing has changed. And when I try to run it from the terminal, I get "Segmentation fault".
Can you please help me? What would be the problem and how can I fix this?
Thank you!

Open the menu System→Administration→Software sources

under Ubuntu software tab check all except source and under Updates tab check first two boxes.

Reload.

Try again to install packages from software center.

If you still have problems let us know.

You can also try to install packages from menu System→Adiminstration→Synaptic package manager.

See if that way works.

Here ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1343696 ) they say that removing a package made the software center work.

Run in the terminal:
sudo aptitude remove frei0r-plugins
