Install of program hung up and can't remove or reinstall

Asked by Gerald D. Otis

I tried to install Dropbox on this computer but it hung up during the installation. I tried to remove it but that process hung up also. So now, the program, or parts of it, on on my computer but I can neither remove it nor reinstall it. How can I get rid of the remnants of Dropbox or get the Software Center to allow me to reinstall it?
