Please read this:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RootSudo

I quote:

Usage
When using sudo, your password is stored by default for 15 minutes. After that time, you will need to enter your password again.
Your password will not be shown on the screen as you type it, not even as a row of stars (******). It is being entered with each keystroke!

Your sudo password (or authentication code) is simply the Ubuntu password which you use to log into Ubuntu.

This same password is also used for accessing and installing packages using Software Center.

So normally, there is NO list of Ubuntu passwords, just one password to remember (your Ubuntu password during login).

sudo will NOT show any characters or output while you type in the sudo password.

The password is NOT displayed for security reasons.

sudo password changes whenever your Ubuntu password changes.

If you forgot your Ubuntu password and cannot log into Ubuntu anymore, you need to follow these instructions :

Can you help with this problem?
