Asked by Harold Graves

When I select Ubuntu YouTube program for download (from Software Center) and click on "More Info" I have to select "Buy" and then sign in with username and password. Is this correct?

Is this for youtube-dl? What is the package name you are trying to install?

Hi - Package I was trying to install is Minitube-Ubuntu 2.1.3. After I
selected "Buy" I had to log in with username and password (which I had
forgotten), so after choosing a new password, I was able to log in and
download the software. Haven't tried to use it yet. Thanks for your
interest. Harold

Minitube is free. You can also install it with:

sudo apt-get install minitube

Hope it works out ok

The Ubuntu Software center does not give you the option to install Free and Open Source Software only. It also includes a shopping system for commercial products. So this is technically correct, if Canonical is heading the right way with it, is an other question and there are different opinions on that.
