This is what I get when I try to install anything

in addition:
The Input/output error might be caused by a filesystem or hard drive failure. You should run a HDD test.
To do so, start in recovery mode (Go from step 1 to 6 in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RecoveryMode ), then choose the option to test the filessystems hard disks).
