Back up on Launcher Ubuntu 12.04

I was at friend house and after updating her Ubuntu OS 12.04 system, I noticed a Icon (called Backup which was black) appear on Launcher which I have not seen before please can anyone enlighten me.

It's called deja-dup. It's a backup software. It is also optional so can be uninstalled if you don't need it etc.
