Trying to install new printer, a Brother MFC-J6710DW

I'm trying to install my new printer. However, the installation CD only works with Windows or Mac systems. Unsure how to proceed with installation since I am only familiar with "Plug n Play" installation procedures through Windows operating systems. While I have been able to download the installation instructions for the printer driver I am unfamiliar with how to proceed from this point forward.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. And the more details the better since many, many years have passed since I possessed effective computer programming skills.

Did you check the Brother website. They do make debs for their printers. You will need to install the driver then attach the printer then turn it on.
