Metacity not showing in dash

Have application Metacity downloaded and installed in software centre, where it shows it is 'uncategorised'.

Cannot be found in Dash.

How do I find it please?

New install of 12.04

You dont run metacity like you do gedit. It is a window manager. If you press ALT + F2 and run:

metacity --replace

Your current window manager will close down and metacity will run in its place

Oh dear, have tried that and now no controls on the desktop, not even sure how to
 turn off. Tried the alt f2 no box to get old view back please?
