i fogot my old password so that now i cann't install any application what should i do ?

i forgot my old password of ubuntu , but now i cann't install any new applications from ubuntu software center because of the authentication problem .what should i do to get my password?

You can't recover your old password but you can reset it.

You can set Ubuntu not to ask for a password at login but I would not recommend that since you are more likely to forget a password if you don't use it often.
