Desktop shortcut

I am using win xp and 12.04 LTS side by side. The hard disks are not mounted when i start ubuntu. As a result desktop shortcuts are unusable just after starting.

Add the partitions in /etc/fstab and they will mount at boot. I suggest you run:

sudo blkid

and use the UUID of the partition
