compiz config installed but doesnt appear in apps list in 12.04

Asked by Peter Jordan

Im running 12.04 LTS. if i go into software centre it tells me compizconfig is allready installed. If I go to my list of apps to select compiz its not there.
Is compiz compatible with 12.04LTS, if so how do I get the application to appear in the installed programs list. Used to have it but since a recent reinstall this problem has arisen.

Run:

ccsm

Beware, it's known to cause issues and there is even a warning when you first run the application

The program's name is : compizconfig-settings-manager

Click on Dash and write ccsm
or
execute it in terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) as @actionparsnip suggested.

BE AWARE is not for play.

Thanks

Also you can try to re-install it from terminal , apply the command

sudo apt-get install --reinstall compizconfig-settings-manager

Thanks
