It doesn't work. I can recommend gnucash as an opensource alternative

Its usually better to use Linux software for the job rather than trying to use Windows software on Ubuntu.

Take a look at Gnu Cash. Its in the software centre so easy to install and the web site is here: http://www.gnucash.org/
