Trying to update to the current version of Java JDK

I need help trying to find where the java file is installed on my computer so I can update it to the current version. Also the steps on how to update it.

Yes I am updating to the JDK 7u9

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer

Will install 7u9 for you

Ok I did that but where is the location suppose to be of the java files

I know but I was just curious about where the files were located. I already did and that worked but I was just looking into it more.
