Recommended hex editor

What hex editor can be recommended for use in Linux?
No matter it's console or GUI.
I've tried to use:
1) GHex (when I used it, it tried to load the whole file into the RAM, which is not good for multi-GiB files);
2) Bless (I don't like it uses mono/Gtk#);
3) Midnight Commander (MC has a built-in hex viewer / editor, but I've not found there an option to select / delete a block of data, edit the ASCII values etc.).
