how to install skype on ubuntu version 12.04 lts

im using version 12.04 lts of ubuntu
i cannot download skype
pls help

Go to the skype site, download the deb for your arch and install it

OK it says 10.04.

Just install that, either 32bit or 64bit depending on what you have.

It works for the rest of us.

if you run:

uname -m

if you see:
i686 it is 32bit
x86_64 is 64bit

Hi ,
please follow these instructions to install skype.

1) Open Ubuntu Software Center
2) Click "Edit" (up bar)
3) Click "Software Sources"
4) Click on "Other Software"
5) Mark the "Canonical partners" box.
6) Close & Close software Center too.
7) Open Software Center again and in search box , write : skype
