Download manager & video capture software for Ubuntu 12.04

Asked by SACHIN

I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed as a dual boot with Windows 7 on my PC. However I have Internet Download Manager (IDM) which works as a video capture software as well as downloads large files at a great speed on Windows 7. Most of you must be knowing about IDM for windows.
Can you suggest an equivalent software for Ubuntu which does exactly the same things which IDM does on Windows?
Regards,
Sachin

fatrat, uget, wget, jdownloader (needs java) are some I can think of fast. You can use youtube-dl in CLI if you want to download from youtube in CLI, or you can use one of the hundreds of downloader apps available as addons and extensions for your web browser.

Can you help with this problem?
