White screen when attempting to purchase software

Asked by Alexander Bessman

I am attempting to purchase the game "Oil Rush" via Ubuntu Software Center. After I click the "Buy" button and provide my Ubuntu Single Sign-On credentials, I get a white screen and am unable to progress with the purchase. The same thing happens with all for-sale items. This happens on two different computers, both running Ubuntu 12.04.

I can install non-commercial software without problem. My Ubuntu Single Sign-On credentials are definitely correct, as I can use them to login to Launchpad.

How can I fix this and start purchasing software via Ubuntu Software Center?

Hello Alexander,

thank you for bringing this up, what you should do additional is bugreporting against software-center

For short:

1Press ALT and F2
2type in the software name(exactly)
3See apport starting
4Please describe your problem in a exact way, that makes it a developer which is not familiar with the softeware you use to reproduce the bug(thing of explanation to a beginner - step by step).

Please do this procedure for every software separated. One error one bugreport.

For the long story how to report a bug(recommend to read):

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs

After this please link this here against the bugreport with the "related bugs" option.

Thank you in advance

Marty, were you watching JTV via Software Center? If not, in what way does your answer relate to this question?

lol;

In principle must that be possible. AFAIK Software-Center utilise ?webkit? for presentation of software, but I do not think that this is indented.

Really marty,

you should read again and proof if this here is really the right place for your problem.

When it is a bug what you have you should open up a new report as I descripted above. When you have a specific question, please open up a new question for.

The blank page Alexander is talking about is in the software-center by his system, not in his browser.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Alexander Bessman for more information if necessary.
