There is no outright 'better' or 'best' and all you will get is opinion....its as intelligent as asking what the best colour is. There are options, each with different abilities but none are best otherwise nobody would use the others and the other projects would die. What is best for one user will undoubtedly be worst for others

Libreoffice has a handy maths equation writer. Have you tried that?

yes I have tried that. I don't like widows and don't want to advertise here about MS office. But I am sorry to say MS office 2007 has some features in equation editing which is missing in LibreOffice. I don't want to criticize among offices. I want a good writer with good equation editor ability. So I asked about Latex. Is this user friendly ?? Please don't misunderstand with my questions. Also want to is there any other equation editor ??
thanks

Latex is powerfull, but this is the biggest problems of it.

Endless possibilities causes big complexity of it. So, userfrienldy is it not.

You can do all in mathematics with it, but you have to spend 2-4 weeks only on learning to handle latex proper.

I have seen many many students wasting time for doing latex formatting.

The math module of libre office is good. Microsoft office provide much more direct options to handle thigs, but a good part of them are redundant. You can all construct what you need out of the more consolidated options of libre office.
