how to correct Broken Pakage

Asked by pushpa

On my top bar a red circle with white horizontal line is displayed. When i hover over it this message is shown: an error occurred, please run Package manager from the right-click menu or apt-get in a terminalto see what is wrong. The error message was: 'Error: BrokenCount > 0' This usually means that your installed packages have unmet dependencies.
I tried to get online help but nothing is working in my case,

run the following in terminal

sudo dpkg --configure -a
