Is it possible to write gamesaves into gamefolder situated in /

When I installed SuperMeatBoy from Team Meat using deb package, I saw that they save gamesaves not in ~/.<gamename> Thay save it in gamefolder in / partition. So, is this allowed? Is allowed to get write permissions (they did not warn me before installation)

That is probably the worst place they could have put the game folder. Unfortunately, it is allowable if they set the proper permissions.

I would check to see if there are any installation options that might allow the game folder to put in a more appropriate place. Also check the games readme's files or other associated documentation. Sometimes there are command line switches for redirecting the gamefolder when you launch the game.
