Problem with the Ubuntu software centre
I am a new user of Ubuntu 10.04LTS.I have installed successfully several packages from the centre including open office VLC KlamAV and others. When I try to use pciutils which is shown as installed at the centre I cannot find the menu item to operate the program. This has happened before with programs I tried to use. Can you please advise?

Looks fine, ok If you run:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install vlc klamav
What is output?
BTW, if you use Gnome, you should use clamtk, Klamav is a Qt app (KDE) so will pull in a LOT of Qt libs as dependancies

Hi Sam,
I still cannot find clamtk in the menu. The 6th item is logfile viewer- do i understand #6 properly? Is it the 6th item in the list shown you mean?
