Unable to re-install purchase from Software Center

Asked by fmo

Every time I try to re-install Steel Storm Burning Retribution from the Software Center using the option "Reinstall previous purchases" after a while I get the following message.

W:Failed to fetch https://private-ppa.launchpad.net/commercial-ppa-uploaders/steel-storm2/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/binary-amd64/Packages The requested URL returned error: 401
, W:Failed to fetch https://private-ppa.launchpad.net/commercial-ppa-uploaders/steel-storm2/ubuntu/dists/natty/main/binary-i386/Packages The requested URL returned error: 401
, E:Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I am running Ubuntu 11.10, upgraded to the latest today. It was a clean install, not an upgrade from previous versions.

Thank you

I'm having exactly the same problem with my two purchases (Uplink and Darwinia). I've learnt not to buy from USC. Its impossible to get help from Canonical, despite having bought a product that doesn't work.

Hi,

I found a way to fix this problem and I posted my solution on askubuntu http://askubuntu.com/a/148988/69708

It looks like I am not the only one having had the problem.
