unable to download vlc fr software center

I am unable to download vlc fr ubuntu software center. then i try to download other similar software. but get same problem in downloading.
My internet is working and hv no problem in browsing other website.

The package was not found. Have you tried running 'sudo apt-get update' first before installing VLC? If not, please do. This will update the index to the latest.

If it seems to be not working after that, open your Software Sources then switch to another download server (under Ubuntu Software tab) near you.
