i cant install software in 11.10

when i try to install a programm from software center ubuntu , shows this message :

and when i write in terminal sudo apt-get install synaptic it shows :

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

Do this:
1. Open a terminal by hitting CTRL + ALT + T
2. Insert and run this command:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get update

3. Then copy and paste here all the output and try to install a program.

HI!
had the same/similar problem
!1.sudo apt-get update
!2.sudo dpkg --configure -a
its supposed to work the other way round
thanks for pointing out the command[Enrico "eNry" Cara-fa (mr.tennents)] i was using a different command but trying to do the same
the fault was on Ubuntu software center side not urs
