ubuntu software center open office problem

Asked by Omar Hussein

I am trying to install Open Office on Ubuntu 11.04 as it appears in the software center. I have installed it but it does not appear on my computer. Then I downloaded it from the Open office website and when I open the file the Ubuntu Software Center opens and displays "Dependency is not satisfiable: ooobasis3.3-core01". can anyone help me???

Please try to press the SUPER key (the key with the windows logo) and search for openoffice, than start it. Try if this work.

If you are using unity, what text comes up when you click on the third, fourth and fifth icon from left top? If LibraOffice comes up, then you have new version of Open Office. It may be possible to have both installed, but I have never been able to do it.

Can you help with this problem?
