install a dot ISO file

As a true newbie, how do you install an ISO file?

Usually iso files are not to be installed directly it contains the iso image of install cd

Please tell what are you trying to do...

HI ken

It is not possible to install directly from the ISO file.
just burn into a CD. So you will be able to use it as normal CD of files. Among of them will be the files you must execute to install the software.
If you are using Ubuntu, click using right button and choose "write on disk" or something like that.
Double click usually opens the program which burns on CD, also

Sometimes is possible install software from an iso mounting it in loop mode.
Example we can use an alternate iso cd image file mounted in loop mode to made an Ubuntu release-upgrade without burning any cd rom...
