Cannot open ubuntu software center, comes up please re-install software center pacakge

When I try to open ubuntu software center, it comes up with message tore-install the software center package. How do I re-install the software center package ??

Oh sorry, it uses the retarded USA spelling (in other words wrong spelling):

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get --reinstall install software-center

Dear Actionparsnip

When trying to open the Ubuntu Software center using VMware Player on 64 bit Ubuntu 13.04 I was routed back to Desktop

I've reported this same problem using Virtual box however strange enough it did'nt show up in "my questions"

Your info sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get --reinstall install software-center didn't work either
