Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

Are the programs you are attempting to run designed for Windows? Ubuntu and Windows are incredibly different to each other from a technical standpoint, and programs designed for Windows will not natively run on Ubuntu and vica versa.

If you wish to run programs designed for Windows on Ubuntu, I would recommend taking a look at Wine. Wine is a compatibility layer which is designed to make this possible, but it is not yet fully compatible with every single application.

You can get more information about Wine at http://www.winehq.org/ , and compatibility information about individual applications at http://appdb.winehq.org/ .

You can install it by clicking on the link below:
apt://wine
