my ubuntu software center keep showing a sign of loading but never opening up anything

for some time now, Ubuntu software center refuses to load beyond the 'categories' phase. when i click on any of the categories it displays a sign to indicate 'loading' and stays like that for all time

As a workaround, you can use the "synaptic" package manager instead. Its less user friendly, but significantly more robust, and useful.

open system monitor and see what is status of your progam you are trying to start

try following, mostly it will solve your problem

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

additional to keep you pc clean

sudo apt-get autoclean and then sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
