statistical program R
I am a statistics student studying in University . For statistical purpose we have to learn a software named R (programming language). our university use this software in windows .
As I use UBUNTU in my pc I have to know is this program runs in UBUNTU ?
If possible please tell me how?
Note that I am very new in IBUNTU.

Hello Tahsin,
Yup, it is possible to run R program on Ubuntu. You just install it by open your terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) then type this command:
sudo apt-get install r-base
Remember, to install it you have to connect to the internet.

I dont have good Internet connection in my PC
I bring the R software in a USB pen-drive and now want to install in my
UBUNTU.
As I am very new in UBUNTU please instruct me manually how I will install it
in my UBUNTU.

Do you mean you don't have internet connection to install R program to your Ubuntu?
Then, I need the output from this command (run these command from your Ubuntu Terminal). To open Terminal program, just click Applications > Accessories > Terminal.
lsb_release -a ; uname -a
Those commands are checking your running system (Ubuntu). What kind of Ubuntu do you use to install R program. Then I will guide you how to install R program.

No problemo tahsin,
It seems need a lot of packages if you're install it on offline mode.
Tell me the R program on your USB pen-drive?
Is it .deb package or something?

perhaps this is .deb package. Actually I can not find out the formate (sorry
for that).
I notice many files .rdx , .zip .
What I can do now?
