Installed Adobe, where it is?

Asked by Bob Pace

Running Ubuntu 10.10, installed Adobe reader in the software center, also confirmed that the program was installed. However, when I go to Applications-Office, Adobe is not there. I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it...same issue. I have not had this problem with other software installed from the software center. Any ideas?

if you run:

acroread

does it run. "Adobe Acrobat" is not "Adobe". "Adobe" is not a software so cannot be run. Adobe make a LOT of softwares, one of which is Acrobat reader.

in Ubuntu 10.10 without having to access Terminal?

Appreciate it. I do want to let you know that I was running RH Linux
in the late '90's as a dual-boot O/S with Windows NT. I could never
get any help from anyone so I gave up with Linux. Then after 4 yrs. I
started with Mandriva, again, the same issues. Nobody gave me any help.
I will be honest, the only reason I am running Ubuntu 10.10 is because I
experienced a virus with Win XP, my only salvation was to install
Ubuntu. I was pleasantly surprised. I am back to square one, but am
working on understanding Linux again after 12 yrs.

It is people like you that have once again renewed my faith in the Linux
community. I want to thank you very much!

I started on Mandrake (Which is Madriva before the merger), it was great. When it became Mandriva it was Ok but I was using Gentoo by those days.

The issue is resoved regarding Acrobat reader, please mark as solved.
