I am very new in ubuntu

in a terminal run:

sudo apt-get -y install rar unrar p7zip-full p7zip-rar unp

You can now use fileroller to extract the file in GUI using right click, or in terminal simply run:

unp filename

to extract at CLI

Try next software http://www.rar.fixtoolbox.com program open/read/export/recover .rar file
