how do I access Ksoduko when it is installed?

Asked by Howard Walker

I went to the software center and downloaded and installed Ksoduko. It says that it is installed, but it does not appear anywhere in my system that I can find. I'm running Ubuntu with the latest updates. Can anyone tell me how to access it? I would have thought that it would appear on the games menu, but it does not. Does this game require any additional software in order to run? Will it run on a Gnome desktop or do I have to have a different one?

It should appear in the games application listing; There is a desktop file listed in the correct position in the package. Not sure why it is not showing up.

As a current workaround, try using Alt+F2 to launch the "run" dialog, then type "ksudoku"

Should be fine. ksudoku will be based on Qt as it is a KDE app so will have pulled in tonnes of KDE dependancies.
If space is not a luxury then remove it and install gnome-sudoku and it will use many packages you already have.

It does not appear in the games application listing, and when I use Alt+F2 it cannot find the program. So I have just removed it from my system. It would have been nice as my wife is a fanatic, but she will have to do without.
Thanks for trying.

By the way - gnome-soduko was also listed as being installed - but does not show up in the games listing. It did run once using Alt + F2, however. after that the file was not locatable.

If you run:

alacarte

You can modify the menu and add (or maybe just enable) the item to run gnome-sudoku

Should be ok :)

Can you help with this problem?
