Please do not post with the previous message included, as this is extremely confusing to people using the web interface (which includes almost all contributors providing assistance).
Follow these steps: https:/
That may fix your problem. But if it doesn't, it will provide useful diagnostic information so we can help you fix it. So if the problem is not fixed after doing that, please post here with the complete text from the Terminal.

I am going to post some information here that was originally posted in the duplicate threads, to consolidate everything here (since you have not done so). My first post (after this one) will be the text you got from the Terminal after performing steps 1-5 of https:/

In response to that information, actionparsnip asked you to run this command:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade; sudo apt-get --reinstall install nano; lsb_release -a; uname -a
You attempted to do so, but you did not do so correctly. This time (as actionparsnip indicated in that now-marked-Invalid thread), please make sure to paste in that command on one line, as a *single* command, then press enter to run it, and paste all the text from the Terminal here.
As an alternative, if it's easier, you can use this command instead, which performs exactly the same actions:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y upgrade; \
sudo apt-get --reinstall install nano; lsb_release -a; uname -a
That command spans two lines, so it's less likely to be broken up into multiple lines here on the web interface (or in your email). But it's still a *single* command. So if you choose to use it (instead of the first option), you must also copy the whole thing, paste it, and then run it by pressing enter.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask Joe Linane for more information if necessary.
