software centre issue, can't load other sources or PPAs
In ubuntu software center I only have 2 tabs. "supplied by ubuntu" and "Canonical partners". I have added the appropriate souce for the PPA I want (Gyachi) in other sources but am unable to see it in either the Software Centre or using Synaptic. Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Macbook with ubuntu only.

sudo sed -i 's/jaunty/lucid/g' /etc/apt/
This will get rid of the Jaunty repos you seem to have for some reason, may help the situation.

did that and thanks...update time is significantly reduced. Still having the same problem with "Software Center" and synaptic. Can't load PPAs or even find them and the Sources file has been checked and rechecked.

Because you didn't copy the text as one. You thought gyachi was a seperate command but its all ONE. So the command you now need is:
sudo apt-get install gyachi
And it will install.
