Installtion of wine

Asked by Amit

I am connected to internet, but when I try to install wine through "Applications--> Ubuntu Software Center", it displays a message "Failed to donwload repository information, Check you Internet connection" (W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/maverick-updates/restricted/binary-amd64/Packages.gz Something wicked happened resolving 'archive.ubuntu.com:http' (-5 - No address associated with hostname))

Please tell me, what should I do to install wine on Ubuntu 10.10.
Thanks.

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install wine1.3

If the above does not work, make sure you are not being blocked by a network proxy on your machine or local to you.
