loaded ztools but can not find it except in package manger

I am new to Ubuntu. I am trying to use a bar code program to set up a DVD library so I downloaded and installed from the software center ztools . It shows up inpackage manger but how do I start using the program itself?

What did you actually install? Ztools does not appear to be a package in ubuntu.

the program is called zbar-tools and I downloaded and installed all files I could find

Its a command line only program. From their documentation
"Run 'zbarcam' to start the video scanner. use 'zbarimg barcode.jpg' to decode a saved image file. "

You can do this by using a terminal
System>Applications>Terminal

 then type

zbarcam
