how to repair an application when it gets shutdown unfreindly during download

Actually, I was downloading Skype for my pcs but its was shut down unfriendly manner during. now after restart the system when i am going to download it again, it show message that you have to repair it first. what should i do .

Mmmm I think the download was fine, but not the installation.
Could you do this to know a bit more about the problem:

Applications > Accessories > Terminal

type
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

It should display you an error message if Skype was not properly installed. Then I can tell you how to fix it.

apt-get dis-upgrade it is an invalid operation

Mmmm are you sure you typed the command exactly like I wrote it?

you have to type the entire line, then enter: "sudo apt-get update"
If it's not working, try "sudo aptitude update" then "sudo aptitude dist-upgrade"
