Ubuntu Software Center non installa

Asked by Enrico Pumarosa

Dopo aver aperto Ubuntu Software Center e scelto il programma da installare, cliccando il pulsante installa resta inerte.. non muove nulla.
Ho già provato a rimuoverlo e installarlo nuovamente dal terminale, ma nulla

Hello Enrico. I recognize this error, and it is not a bug but a user mistake. Please continue to use this thread for help, but I'm converting this to a question to clean up the bug list.

The Software Center is complaining that there is an error in the list of software sources in /etc/apt/sources.list. Please open the file (run "gedit /etc/apt/sources.list" without quotes) and paste the first few lines of the file here.

PS - I see from your profile on Launchpad you just joined now to report this. Good spirit. :D

Thank you for your time thus far on my behalf.
I opened the terminal and entered gedit/etc/apt/sources.list and received the following: bash: gedit/etc/apt/sources.list: No such file or directory.

Please advise as to further steps I can take to resolve this issue.

Thanks for your help.

actually we'll do it the smart way:

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/n-muench-vlc-lucid.list; sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome-media-player-development/development; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade

Done. No more issues

Please be advised that the Update Manager isn't working either.
