How to resolve installation failure

Asked by Bathurst B. Bagby III

Previous installation hasn't been completed

The installation could have failed because of an error in the corresponding software package or it was cancelled in an unfriendly way. You have to repair this before you can install or remove any further software.

Right now I don't have problems with grub, because I zero fill the hdd I try to install lucid lynx on. However, right now Lucid refuses to run its setup past selecting to install, nor will it actually run a normal live user session. Instead my system reboots before lucid gets to the actual setup or live user session. I'm running an amd 965 black edition cpu in my system, but that isn't supposed to be an issue. My only hypothesis at this time is that there is some hardware in my system that Lucid doesn't support. Not sure what it is though.

Yes I''m using a cd to install from. I'm redownloading the iso file just to see if any updates have been applied.

Can you help with this problem?
