Hi iDude. In lucid the sun-java packages have shifted to the canonical partners repository. If you enable this repository, for instance with software-center (expand 'get software' and navigate to 'canonical partners'), then you should be able to install sun-java as normal.

How and where do I do this step by step name by name. I'm very new to this.

I ran into the same problem, and here's how I tackled it. In the Applications menu, select Ubuntu Software Center (there may be something comparable in Kubuntu). Once that launches, I clicked on the Edit menu, and selected Software Sources. In there, under the "Other" tab I noticed that two of the options were not selected. After selecting them, the Software Center took a minute to download some new lists of available software. After it was finished, I did a new search for Sun-Java, and found the Sun Java Runtime Environment. Download it, then install LimeWire (or FrostWire, or whatever you're installing).

Hope that helps!

Mannex, Mannex, Mannex, You are a genius man, it worked, it installed Frostwire and Limewire, downloaded Sun Java 6.0 plugin, Thanks a lot, there will be a lot of people thanking you after reading this, you saved us...

P.S. The tab in software sources is: http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu lucid partner.(No Source Code, Just Partner).

Can you help with this problem?
