Latest Software Updates disabled Streaming Video

Asked by Tom Steidel

The lastest round of software updates loaded through the Update Manager have disabled all streaming video, especially YouTube. An "Install Required Plug-In" message appears at the top of nearly every web-page, but when selected, and ANY of the three options are chosen, the plug-in fails with the suggestion that I run "sudo dpkg --configure-a" from the terminal. This does not solve the problem. I almost wish I hadn't downloaded these latest updates; my machine was working perfectly until then.

Solved the problem myself. Had to enter from terminal:
'sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree'
Then enter password, and
'sudo dpkg --configure-a'
The download of a new Adobe Flash Plugin commenced, and seems to have solved my problems.
