Snapd build for Alpine Linux, other musl-based distro's?

Asked by Avery Freeman

Hi, not so much a bug as a platform request

Am I wrong in thinking a container system such as snap seems like the perfect way to easily bring glibc library programs to musl-based OS without having to re-tool or static link?

Would very much like to see snapd on Alpine, it's the lightest common distro available and would benefit greatly from having snaps in it's ecosystem

Thoughts? Thanks

This is support for Ubuntu only (respectively snap on Ubuntu), and not for other operating systems like Alpine Linux.

If you have a question about snap in general, you better look at https://github.com/snapcore/snapd and https://forum.snapcraft.io/

Here is the forum for your distribution. None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported here

Thanks

Yes, this is a good point, sorry I wasn't thinking. Both are good answers. Thank you!
