I can understand your reasoning, I surely don't care about folder layout on my Android device.
But I am also fully aware that my Android device is essentially operated by Google.
They do whatever they want with the device, and I'm merely a consumer that gets to use the browser and a few other apps.
My computer is different. It's MY device. I get to make the rules. This is what free software was all about in the first place.
Since Firefox got converted to a snap, it takes ages to load on my girlfriends old laptop.
Sometimes, it doesn't start at all and just gives a black window so you have to close and re-open.
And in my dayjob, I had big problems with the chromium snap and Gnome Window management when trying to use the kiosk mode to make a web-app.

I would like to get rid of snaps, but I can't since Canonical has decided for me.
And while this bug is about a stupid folder that won't go away, for many of us it's about Canonical not having our best interests at heart any more.
That's why I'm leaving the Canonical ecosystem. And I'm taking my employer's infrastructure with me.
